Receiving a crown helps address a number of cosmetic and restorative concerns. However, you may assume placement means missing work and undergoing several appointments. Fortunately, using CEREC technology, we can offer our Gary, IN, same day dental crowns.
A dental crown completely covers the visible portion of your tooth, which means we address a variety of problems with your tooth’s appearance, function, and health. For example, we repair chipped teeth, correct fractured teeth, and lengthen worn down teeth. We also close gaps between teeth, address malformed ones, and anchor dental bridges in place. We also restore single tooth dental implants. If you have issues with the shape and color of your teeth, or if you damage them or develop serious oral health issues, we may be able to return your tooth to full function and health.
With the CEREC system, we begin by removing a small amount of tooth structure. We then take detailed digital impressions, which will be uploaded into a computer and used to design a 3D model. We then upload the 3D model into the CEREC machine, which mills a custom-made restoration from a solid block of ceramic. After we check the fit and make any necessary adjustments, we place the crown with a bonding agent. The entire procedure only takes a single visit to complete.
We use ceramic for many reasons, including the material’s strength and durability. However, ceramic also mimics the translucent appearance of tooth enamel. We also shade the material to help it better match surrounding teeth, ensuring a more lifelike appearance. Once in place, your restoration will look completely natural and provide many years of quality improvement.
